Friday Night Live in the RATT - Amanda Duncan and Dana Alexandra
(CAB)
|
| Description: |
Stop by The Ratt tonight and welcome Amanda Duncan and Dana Alexandra, two great female singer-songwriters, to WJU!
About Amanda:
"She is a soldier in the new army of musicians who rely only on themselves to make things happen whether it be branding her name with graphic art or even engineering half of her own record. She draws from a diverse blend of the crooning hits of the 30's and 40's and the pop-country of today, to craft what has become her light-hearted, head-bopping acoustic sound. 180 degrees from the winey, suicidal droning of many singer-songwriters, in a black and white world, Amanda Duncan is a burst of color."
(source: http://www.amandaduncan.com/about.html )
About Dana:
"Dana Alexandra, a York, Penn., native, has captivated audiences with her distinctive voice and accomplished songwriting. After an extensive college tour, she put out a second album in June — Wash Your Mouth Out — that was recorded in Nashville, Tenn., with producer Dustin Burnett."

Friday Night Live in the RATT - Joe Zelek Band
(CAB)
|
| Description: |
WJU is proud to host local favorite the Joe Zelek Band in one of the more intimate shows they put on! Joe and his band are a perennial favorite on the local country stations and all around the Ohio Valley, having performed all around Wheeling, Pittsburgh, and to tens of thousands at Jamboree in the Hills.
In Joe's own words:
"I grew up in Mt. Pleasant, OH where my life revolved around drums, baseball, dirt bikes, 80's rock bands and country music. My hometown was just across the river from a unique little music scene in Wheeling, WV where you could see the best country music had to offer at the legendary Capitol Music Hall then walk down the street to the Civic Center and see Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Poison, etc. It was only natural that my songwriting would later find a home somewhere in the middle of those influences."
(source: http://www.joezelek.com/about.html )
Even if you think you don't like country music, Joe Zelek is sure to have something that appeals to you. So stop by and see this local, high-energy favorite!

Students compete in teams of 2 to win cash prizes. The top 3 teams win prizes with the 1st place team winning $100 in cash!
The game is open not just to roommates but to anyone with a roommate, best friend, sorority sister, fraternity brother, significant other or anyone else they want to play with that they think they know a lot about!
